  1.                    Ariadne.

26 March

Dear diary.

We went to see the film George Harrison (my favourite Beatle) made to raise funds for the people in Bangladesh who are starving. The music was great but the pictures of all those skinny kids really breaks your heart. I wish we could do more to help them.

The world can really be a rotten place sometimes. I wish everybody had food to eat and money to spend. I wish there weren’t any wars – ever!

And I wish my parents would let me go to the concert in the park. All my friends are going and besides, it’s for a good cause. But mum and dad think it’s dangerous. They worry too much! Trying to talk to your parents can be really frustrating sometimes! And while I’m at it, I also wish my brother wouldn’t take my things without asking! I can’t find my Simon and Garfunkel tape. I’m sure he’s pinched it again. Honesty, I’ve told him not take my things but he couldn’t care less. Rat!

  1.                   Aurora

13 May

Mum and dad are really worried. They think we can’t tell but the atmosphere is so tens you could cut it with a knife. Apparently, dad’s company are laying lots of people off because there isn’t enough work. Could dad be made redundant too? If he loses his job, we can say goodbye to holidays and birthday treats. I wish knew what was going on.

Got my project on the environment back and the teacher really liked it. I wish I could say the same about my friends. They think I’m exaggerating and it makes me so mad. I wish they realized how bad the situation is we went to the seaside for the bank holiday weekend and there was all this filthy rubbish on the beach. All they worry about is boys. Though I admit they’re a bit of a problem too: E. hasn’t called!
